Kristin
Hyland
Ms.
Kristin Hyland is a third grade teacher at Martin Luther King Jr.
School Complex. She is new to the school and the Atlantic
City School District , but has been teaching third grade for over
four years. She is a graduate of Rowan University , with
a degree in Liberal Arts, Math and Science Specialization.
She is a highly qualified and New Jersey state certified teacher.
Ms. Hyland is looking forward to continuing her education
in the near future by obtaining her masters in reading.
Ms.
Hyland is enjoying her first year at MLK and looks forward to many
more exciting years here. She participates in the after school
program, The Learning Tree to help children in fifth grade with
their writing. She also volunteers in a mentoring program
here at Martin Luther King School Complex. This program,
Brother to Brother, Sister to Sister, allows students to spend time
with a mentoring teacher outside of school and enjoy activities
such as educational trips to museums and workshops on matters such
as personal hygiene.
Ms.
Hyland is excited to learn more technology to enhance her teaching
strategies through the Star-W grant. Her students are learning
valuable skills through this grant that will carry on with them
throughout their education. Ms. Hyland is anxious to continue
the training for the Star-W grant this summer and to share her new
skills with her third grade students.
