Kristin Hyland

Ms. Kristin Hyland is a third grade teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex.   She is new to the school and the Atlantic City School District , but has been teaching third grade for over four years.   She is a graduate of Rowan University , with a degree in Liberal Arts, Math and Science Specialization.   She is a highly qualified and New Jersey state certified teacher.   Ms. Hyland is looking forward to continuing her education in the near future by obtaining her masters in reading.

Ms. Hyland is enjoying her first year at MLK and looks forward to many more exciting years here.   She participates in the after school program, The Learning Tree to help children in fifth grade with their writing.   She also volunteers in a mentoring program here at Martin Luther King School Complex.   This program, Brother to Brother, Sister to Sister, allows students to spend time with a mentoring teacher outside of school and enjoy activities such as educational trips to museums and workshops on matters such as personal hygiene.

Ms. Hyland is excited to learn more technology to enhance her teaching strategies through the Star-W grant.   Her students are learning valuable skills through this grant that will carry on with them throughout their education.   Ms. Hyland is anxious to continue the training for the Star-W grant this summer and to share her new skills with her third grade students.
