Lisa Pente
Lisa
Pente is a fourth grade teacher who has been teaching at the Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex in Atlantic
City , New
Jersey for six years.
She received her Bachelors Degree from Rutgers
University
. Lisa looks forward in continuing
her education by obtaining a Master's Degree in reading.
She teaches and tutors in the district's after school Title One
Program. Along with being a dedicated teacher, Lisa is the proud
parent of a seven old son, Philip.
Before
teaching at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School,
Ms. Pente worked at the Children Seashore House in Atlantic
City . She was
an instructor in the emotional and behavioral program and worked
with young, at-risk children. This experience led her into
the field of elementary education.
Prior
to the STAR-W grant, Lisa was active in many ETTC
classes offered by the district. She is very eager to keep
abreast of the rapid growth in technology. Through the STAR-W
grant she is able to utilize her experience and knowledge of technology
to encourage her students on a daily basis. Her students are utilizing
many new programs such as Kidspiration and KidsPix , as well as
E-Journaling.
Lisa
is getting married in August and looks forward to relaxing in the
sun with her new family, her husband to be Tim, her son Philip and
stepson Timmy.Lisa
also has many interests including swimming, fishing, canoeing, camping,
dancing and painting. Her goal this summer is to learn how
to scuba dive, and she looks forward to attending technology workshops
that will be provided by the STAR-W grant in July.
