Your Teacher

This year in school your class has been assigned pen pals from a school in Pleasantville.  You are so excited to write back and forth to you pal, Josh, because the two of you have become true friends.  You both tell each other everything, and know that whatever you write, will stay between the two of you.  The last letter you received from Josh was very upsetting.  He told you about two boys who are constantly bullying him on the school bus.  They sit in assigned seats, and the bullies sit directly behind Josh.  He has been hit, spit on and threatened everyday for the past week.  The boys are a lot bigger than him, and he is getting nervous that one day they will jump him.  He is asking you what to do.  What are you going to tell him, now that you know how to deal with bullies?  Write a letter back to Josh giving him at least three positive options to help him in his situation.  Make sure that your letter is in letter form, with all of the five parts of a letter included.  Try to persuade Josh to take your advice!

Now that you are finished your assignment look at this rubric that you will be graded on. After viewing this rubric write how you think you did based on the rubric. Imagine that you are the teacher and grade yourself.  What number do you think you earned?

State in a complete sentence what you did to earn this grade.
