Today we have been doing
a lot of work with Web-and-Flow. I decided to do my
individual project on the Underground Railroad. I found
a ton of interesting sites that are both educational and kid
friendly. So with these sites, I made a Hotlist.
My Hotlist is in the beginners stage, but I did it!
It is so exciting to have work that you created on the web.
Tomorrow should be filled with more fine tuning of our new
sites. We are all learning so much just in these past
few days, and I really can't believe how much more comfortable
I am with computers just in the last six months. I am
very pleased with myself to say the least!

Today we have learned more about
our project Bullies to Buddies and researched many sites for
a large hotlist. The first week is over, and we have
learned so much! It is overwhelming, but if we all work
together it will turn out beautifully! Janine just found
out that NJEA will sometime this year interview us, that means
the pressure is on! On that note, I am out of here and
ready for the weekend with some cocktails!

We are all movie stars! We
were video taping today and created a short video on bullying.
Art then cut and edited the film and we all had a laugh.
Monica and I were being bullied by three mean girls, ( Flemming,
Smith and Castaldi). I think Art is putting it on the
site, so be sure to check it out! We also started working
on our video project for the beginning of the year.
As we video children individually, the others will be working
on a word find created by our group based on bullying vocabulary.
Art also told us about I program based in New Zealand called
Kia Kaha, which means "stand strong". We will
be adopting and adapting this program to fit our needs.
All in all it was a productive day!

Today we were stars
yet again! I think that our group likes the movie from
yesterday better. Today I created two bullying writing
prompts. I really like making those. We also wrote
a rap for our Kick Off program to get B2B started. It
was a productive day, but I am tired. I am ready for
a nap so that I will be well rested for our day tomorrow.
I think we may have a speaker either tomorrow or Thursday.
We will be working with the AlphaSmarts,
that will be great because I unfortunately haven't used the
Alphas in class. I definately will starting in September!

Today was another
good day. In the morning we learned more about the Alpha
Smarts. Bob shared so much information with us, and
we all are so excited to use them in September. In the
afternoon, we worked on another great film. Also, Art
shared a beautiful song with us about a boy being bullied.
I made me cry! It just shows how bullying really influences
you and your live for many years. The words may only
last a few minutes, but the pain lasts for a much longer time.

Today I created another writing prompt that I'm excited about.
It includes not only Halloween, but bullying! It's a picture
prompt so it also goes along with NJ ASK3. We are still
working on the B2B project and edited the film we did yesterday.
This morning we worked on Hyperstudio, and I am excited to use
that this year as well. Only two more days, and summer
will start again. Tah! Tah! |
