The third and fourth grades just finished lunch and are outside on the playground for recess. Two girls, Keisha and Jessica, are running around playing tag. They see another little girl playing by herself, and decide to tag her. She doesn't respond to them tagging her, and continues to play by herself. Jessica and Keisha them continue to tag her, "tagging" her harder each time. The little girl asks the two to stop, but they continue to bother her. She tells Dr. Loper about the situation, and he then orders Jessica and Keisha to stand along the fence. The girls are defending themselves by saying,"we were just playing!"
What do you think... were Jessica and Keisha just "playing", or were they bullying the other girl? Write a paragraph telling me what YOU think was happening on the playground. Give reasons that support your decision. Also, tell me what you would do if you were in the little girl's situation. How would you handle it?
Now that you have finished the assignment, look at the rubric that you will be graded on. After viewing this rubric, write how you think you did based on the rubric. If you were the teacher, what grade do you think you deserve and why? State in a complete sentence what you did to earn this grade.
