Writing Prompt Forms

This page is a “locked front door” to the blank templates for writing prompts that are used by teachers for creating their interactive writing prompts. The prompt form allows for up to ten writing prompts.

Teachers use Macromedia Contribute to build a variety of writing prompt activities.   They have been provided with a template that e-mails the results of student work directly back to them.

After determining the goals and nature of the activity, they eliminate any prompts they do not want and fill in the text of the page to create the activity and then publish them back to this web site.

The prompt templates are not linked here because they are programmed to send mail to the individual teachers. If you were to copy the form, it would not function on your server unless you have a CGI script to handle it.

The Perl scripts that make these forms function are free and available for download from Matt’s Script Archive. If you would like a copy of the blank template and instructions on how to use them on your server, just click on the Contact Us link on the left and use the feedback form and let me know.

Here's a SAMPLE created by Star-W mentor, Art Wolinsky
