Riggins
Mrs.
Riggins is a 3rd Grade teacher at the Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. School in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she has taught
for 18 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
from American University (Washington, DC) , a Master’s Degree in
Educational Leadership from Rowan University (Glassboro, NJ), and
has numerous hours of advanced technology training.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Riggins also enjoys
writing. She has published stories, articles, and educational materials.
In the future, she would like to devote more time to writing and
perhaps write full-time one day!
Regarding STAR-W, Mrs. Riggins says: “This
has been an enormously challenging task, and a tremendously exhilarating
opportunity!! There is so much to learn, so much to do, and
there are so many avenues left to explore!
With the help of the STAR-W grant, we have been
able to expose the children to many new educational experiences,
and help them to use technology as a learning tool. I am encouraged
daily by how fast the students are learning! I think technology
is a vital tool that will help to enhance the quality of education
at our school.”
