Express Yourself

I can't believe I'm at MLK on a Saturday, my sleep late day.  Last night, the Sister to Sister Club spent the evening at Country Buffet and Young's Skating Rink.  At this time, I must be on auto pilot because I'm energized with very little rest. Well, both activities were well worth the little rest that I received.  My son will be excited by all the things I learned today at the workshop.  He was really excited, he and his best friend, when I brought the girls from Sister to Sister to our home. Well, so long for now!

It's been another interesting day with many new ideas for student and teacher technology.  Today we

are learning a lot about virtual tours ,and how to make movies.  This is a new adventure for me, but I'm sure that I'll do fine with it.  Now, I need to gather all my ideas to include the Core Curriculum Standards.  Next year, 2004-2005 will be a very interesting and explosive year.  Adios!

My vacation is over.  I just returned from San Francisco where the scenery was breathtaking. I enjoyed my stay with my oldest son.  The streets and attractions are just like the sights from television and the movies.  Today was the first day that I attended the summer StarW workshop. It wasn't so bad especially after having jet lag.  I took a lot of notes which should help when I recieve my laptop.

Today, we worked on the B2B project. The notes from the "Bullies to Buddies" was used  to imput what I needed on the computer.  I finally feeling comfortable with imputing information.  I'm not comfortable with linking information from the websites yet.

I enjoy learning the various techniques on the computer, but I enjoy the lazy days of summer more.  I'm looking forward to staying up late and getting up late.  I can't wait to sit around and just play video games, watch late movies, and stay out late with my family.  Over the weekend, I found information on bullying. These programs were my resources during the year.  The New Jersey State Bar Foundation has an enormous amount of information on bullying, mentoring, peer mediation among others. Another program I thought was useful was www.charactercounts.org., and www.psychologynj.org.

We taped scripts of bullying on imovie which was what I wanted to learn for the first week of school. Later!

I'm excited about the new imac laptop!  It's amazing how technology will change the way we teach children.  Also, the children will probably teach me far more than I'll teach them once they get started.

I've learned so much for these 2 days.  I'm continually thinking and am amazed how teaching has evolved, and how technology is revolutionizing education. Sometimes, all of this technology is overwhelming because I'm not truly a technical person.
