Ms. Castaldi's  Journal

12/21/04

Finally, I am journaling!  (Sorry Marilyn)   I am trying to wrap my brain around all that I am learning this year.  I am being trained to be the Intermediate Literacy Coordinator and it is a lot of work!  I am enjoying it though.  I am teaching 3 hours of Language Arts in Ms. Hyland's classroom.  The kids are doing a nice job with the new framework.  Today we finally took out the lap tops and are completing a "Holidays Around the World" Webquest!  They are so interested in doing it, and I think them being able to sit around the room and get comfortable with their own lap top is the key!  I overhear them saying, "Oh yeah...this is so cool"  They have to read stories and research how different countries celebrate Christmas.  I am very proud of how well they are working together.  It's funny....we haven't really been getting to the internet as much as we would like....I forgot how beneficial it is to them.  The new year will bring a lot more use to our new computers and lap tops.
