Please be honest when giving your answers.

1.  Do you feel sad at school sometimes after your classmates tease you?  Why do you think they make you feel badly ?  Does it matter when you know your family loves you?

2.  Chrysanthemum's mom and dad hugs her and makes her feel loved at home.  At school, why didn't they make her feel welcomed and liked?  Name some situations in school where you or your classmates felt badly about something.

3.  Towards the end of the story, Chrysanthemum's attitude was toughened.  She felt that no one was going to bother her any more.  With this attitude, all the students treated her a little better.  Would you have been her friend in the beginning, middle, or end of the story?  Does it really matter when you would befriend her?

4. Everytime Chrysanthemum went to school and was teased and insulted, her parents made her feel safe. Change any part of the story that you didn't like.  Use your imagination.
