Ms. Castaldi's  Journal

4/9/05

Yes, it's Saturday and we are in another workshop.  Today is quite educational.  We are learning about kar2ouche...it's an amazing program that will allow the students to put their stories into different frames.  There is a lot to learn with this program, but it is very user friendly.  We are also learning about Tom Snyder's Reading for Meaning program.  I have so many new goals now.  We are starting a genre study on fairy tales and my kids will be writing their own fairy tales.  Ultimately, I now want them to put their fairy tale on Kar2ouche.  I think it will be amazing.  I am excited to introduce this to the class.  It's hard for me because I do not have my own class this year.  Hyland is just as excited about all of this as I am so it will be great for us to work together and get our kids into this!  When I train the teachers next year in our new literacy framework I want to find ways to incorporate all of this technology into the workshops.  I have to sit with Art and find ways.
