Often, bullies are bullies because others approve of their actions or stand by and allow them to take place.

Bullies will almost always back down if the crowd doesn’t approve.  If you and your friends see someone being bullied, take action.  As a group, let the bully know that you don’t think they are cool.  Don’t threaten them. Just let them know you don’t approve and then tell an adult who can help both the bully and his or her victim.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said that in the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
